CISF Takes Charge of Security at Noida International Airport

Induction marks a major milestone in operational readiness ahead of airport’s commercial launch.

Noida, 22 September 2025:

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was formally inducted today as the designated aviation security agency at the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA). The induction marks a significant milestone in the airport’s journey towards operational readiness ahead of its commercial launch.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, CISF, and Noida International Airport, including

  • Shri Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Special DG Airports, CISF.
  • Shri Senthil Avoodai Krishna R, IPS, IG/Airport Sector;
  • Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO NIAL;
  • Smt. Kiran Jain, COO NIA;
  • Shri Shailendra Bhatia, Nodal Officer NIAL;
  • Shri Sanjay Kataria, Regional Director, RO Delhi;

CISF Assumes Aviation Security Mandate

Noida International Airport becomes the 70th airport in the country to come under CISF cover. The Airport Sector (APS) and Aviation Security Group (ASG) of CISF will oversee the airport’s security. Their mandate includes:

  • Perimeter and access control
  • Passenger and baggage screening
  • Terminal and landside security
  • Deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs)
  • Coordination with local law enforcement agencies

In the first phase, 1,047 CISF personnel will be deployed under the leadership of a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO). Deployment strength will be scaled up in line with operational requirements as passenger traffic and flight operations grow.

Shri Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Special DG Airports, CISF, said: “CISF is proud to take charge of aviation security at Noida International Airport. Our Aviation Security Group will implement globally benchmarked  procedures and layered security measures to safeguard passengers, crew, and critical assets. We are committed to working closely with the airport operator and stakeholders to maintain the highest levels of security."

With CISF formally taking charge of security, and major airline partners preparing to commence services, Noida International Airport is set to emerge as a world-class aviation hub for the National Capital Region and beyond.
