A guide for you to prepare, plan, and fly comfortably with your animal companion

Travelling with a Pet

Flying with your Pet
We are delighted to welcome you and your pet to travel through the airport, and we are committed to making your journey seamless and stress-free. Since each airline has its own pet-travel guidelines, we recommend checking with your airline before booking your tickets. They can confirm your pet’s eligibility, advise on the appropriate carrier, and share the necessary documentation required for travelling.
If you are uncertain of where to begin, your airline is the most reliable source for all pet-related approvals, bookings, and travel regulations.
In India, Air India and Akasa Air currently allow pet travel (dogs and cats only)
At the Airport
When you arrive at the airport, you can move freely with your pet until you reach your airline’s check-in counter. Your airline team will complete the verification, guide you through the formalities, and let you know how your pet will be boarded.
If your pet is travelling in cargo, the airline will handle the entire process. Some airlines have designated holding areas for pets before boarding, and your check-in staff will guide you based on their procedures.
You know your pet best, and a little preparation can go a long way in keeping them relaxed while travelling. You can help your pet adjust by letting them spend time in their travel crate beforehand or carrying something familiar, like a small blanket or toy, to comfort them during the journey.
If you ever need help inside the terminal, you can always reach out to our information desk. Our team will be happy to assist you.
